Frequently asked questions
- 01Bathtub and tiles Reglazing is the way to go if you DO NOT want to remodel your entire bathroom. It can save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars over replacement. While a brand new bathtub may only cost as little as $450, there are hidden costs such as removal and disposal costs, plumbing alterations, and tile work. These costs add up and you can easily end up spending nearly $3000 to replace your bathtub.
- 02Our reglazing process typically only takes 4-6 hours to complete. You can use the fixture the next day after 24 hours.
- 03All reglazed surfaces should be cleaned with a non-abrasive mild cleanser. We recommend Dow Scrubbing Bubbles, Mr Clean or Fantastic. The newly reglazed surface will be completely smooth and your grout lines will be sealed (if tile is reglazed), leaving a surface that is non-porous and resistant to mold, mildew and dirt. This surface will only require light cleaning with a mild detergent such as the ones recommended. No scrubbing or scouring will be needed.
- 04Yes, for an additional charge we can reglaze in any color you wish.
- 05Yes, the tub does not need to be dry when we arrive. You can use it right up to the minute before we get there.
- 06Plumbing problems (leaks, broken fixtures, etc.) must be resolved before the tub is reglazed/ the material needs to stay dry for at least 12 hrs to cure.
- 07We will fill most visible chips or other imperfections in your bathtub or other surface prior to the refinishing process. We make your damaged porcelain, acrylic, or fiberglass surface look as good as new.
- 08Our technicians come equipped with full ventilation systems for occupied units to extract odors that naturally occur with our process. You may notice a slight odor after we are finished this typically is gone within a few hours.
- 09No it’s not. Anyone that even hints that it is porcelain is deceiving you. To duplicate a porcelain finish the fixture needs to be fired in a kiln at 2500 degrees not practical in a home! It’s a synthetic which when applied hardens to a beautiful high gloss porcelain-like luster. The Glossytub refinishing formula is a unique process developed specifically for bathtubs. It is laboratory tested to meet the highest standards of product performance and quality. Our long list of satisfied customers proves that claim and guarantees your complete satisfaction.
- 10Our reglazing process works on a variety of counter top surfaces, including Formica, tile, and cultured marble. It also saves you money with our multispec™ imitation stone finishing system. You can have that natural-stone look for a fraction of the cost of marble or granite!
- 11Besides bathtubs we offer a variety of refinishing services for almost any surface in your bath or kitchen including tile, sinks, counter tops and vanities. Click our Gallery link to view some examples of our work.
